I advocate to empower parents to develop the most appropriate educational programs for their exceptional student that federal and state regulations allow.

My work has evolved from personal experience as the parent of two children, one with a specific learning disability and one with Autism and emotional/behavioral challenges. I have gained much of my relevant life experience from my own children, my clients, and their parents.

Continuing education in this field is very important to me, I regularly attend seminars and training relevant to education and Special Education Law. I have completed WrightsLaw, Cuddy Law Firm training, SEALHouse Advocacy Training, UNC FPG Child Development Institute, Center on Technology & Disability and Temple University Partners in Policy Making to name just a few.

As an educational advocate, I provide client-focused services that meet the needs of students who face learning and life challenges. I offer parents and caregivers of children with special needs a resource for understanding what the difficulties are, determining what support may be needed and developing a strategic plan to go about getting it. I enjoy helping parents identify options for assessment, accommodations, and needed services. I value bridging the gap with parents, caregivers and schools and encourage working together in the best interest of understanding a child’s strengths and/or weaknesses.

Extended School Year

Q: "My eight year old son has autism and is third grade. Another parent told me about the Extended School Year Program and I wanted to learn more about this as it was never offered to us. I asked about it and we have a meeting scheduled in April to discuss if he qualifies.

Thank you"
