We are always looking for volunteers!! Volunteers are the backbone of our organization as everyone involved thus far is sharing their free time, their skills and their knowledge to make Hand in Hand what it is today!

We need individuals who would be willing to help with:

  • Childcare at parent events

  • Fundraising events

  • Let’s Get a Job - Our career exploration program.

  • What About Us - We need young people to help with this sibling program

  • Community events - handing out information, supervising the Sensory Tent, making crafts, etc

  • C.A.M.P.S. (Construction, Art, Music, Play, Therapy) a pop-up activity that provides imaginative, accessible, and creative play using recycled and everyday materials.

  • Educational Committee

Sensory Tent

Various Dates and Locations throughout Columbia, Montour and Lower Luzerne Counties.

The Sensory Tent is provided at community events as a place for people to come and relax if they are feeling overwhelmed by the sights, smells, and sounds of the event. It has a giant bean bag chair, a rocking pod chair, softs lights and a few toys. The tent is for both children and adults and offers a place to calm and relax so they can return to the event refreshed.

Volunteers are needed to set up, stay at the tent to ensure it is used properly as well as educate the community on its purpose and tear down.

Clearances are required.

General Events Committee

Hand In Hand Family Resource Center relies heavily on Fundraising Campaigns and Events. Another way to volunteer your time and helping hands in on any one of our many Events Committees! We throw several fabulous fundraising events each year, where opportunities can be the day of the event or the entire planning process! Bring your skills to the table with us (we always have food at our meetings - and great camaraderie)!
